This 1994 Mercedes-Benz E500 blends Porsche-built pedigree with a 5.0-liter V8 and recent mechanical updates. Finished in Black Pearl Metallic, it’s now offered at no reserve with a clean title and service records.
Designed with Porsche’s Help
The E500 was developed in collaboration with Porsche, who also handled final assembly in Stuttgart. Wider track and lower ride height distinguished it from other W124 models.
This example wears Black Pearl Metallic over gray lower cladding. Exterior features include fog lights, headlight washers, a monoblade wiper, and asymmetrical mirrors.
Factory Wheels and Suspension
Factory 16″ eight-hole wheels with Continental tires were remounted after the last auction. AMG wheels shown previously are not included.
The car features Automatic Slip Control and self-leveling rear suspension. Recent work replaced accumulators, a hydraulic hose, and the steering damper.
Interior Details and Comfort
Black leather upholstery covers heated, power-adjustable front seats and individual rear seats. Burl wood trim adds warmth to the cabin.
Interior amenities include automatic climate control, a Continental Bluetooth stereo, cruise control, and a powered rear-window shade.
Instrumentation and Mileage
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer. The odometer shows 80k miles, with 4k added by the current owner.
The instrument cluster was repaired in 2022. Total mileage remains unknown due to prior odometer issues.
Power, Specs, and Performance
The 5.0-liter M119 DOHC V8 was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. It delivers power through a four-speed automatic transmission.
Recent service included new engine and transmission mounts, PCV hoses, spark plugs, accessory belt, tensioner, and pulley. The oil was changed in May 2024.
Transmission and Undercarriage
Power is sent to the rear wheels. Transmission mounts, cooler lines, and exhaust hangers were replaced in 2024.
The car shares its front disc brakes with the R129 SL, enhancing stopping power and road feel.
Documentation and History
Originally delivered to Dave Ostrem Imports in Des Moines, Iowa, the car had a suggested retail price of $82,975. Manuals and service records are included.
The Carfax report shows no accident or damage entries. The car is offered by dealer consignment with a clean North Carolina title.
Summary
This 1994 Mercedes-Benz E500 carries Porsche DNA and a strong mechanical history. With its 5.0L V8, factory wheels, and recent service, it offers a compelling blend of performance and provenance at no reserve.
